Sowgandhi Pancharatnam,
Manager-Oman, Air-India
Last based in Chennai as customer relations manager for Air-India, Pancharatnam has been involved with various aspects of the carrier's operations throughout her career. She was also stationed as manager-Benelux (Belgium and the Netherlands) for Air-India in the recent past. Pancharatnam, who began her career in a USIS Library in India, went on to join Air-India at the airport. She has since been part of reservations, sales, marketing and also cargo operations at different periods of time. She sees her move to Oman as part of a learning experience. She hopes to have more flights, more traffic and more market share for Air-India in Oman.

Sunil Mutreja,
CEO, AdInc
He joined AdInc after a stint with Dainik Bhaskar, the leading Hindi newspaper in India, heading 12 editions as CEO for the Rajasthan circle, lea-ding a team of 1,800 people. "Oman is a market that is opening up well and will see a lot of media innovations and I feel I have landed here at the right time," says Mutreja. He also had a stint as CEO with WCOM Advertising and Media and later as CEO of a production house, Channel Nine Entertainment, from 2000-2005. After completing his graduation in Economics (Hons), Law and Marketing Management, Mutreja began his career in the FMCG sector as management trainee at Dalmia Dairy. He later moved on to Blowplast India and then Nicco Batteries. In 1989, Mutreja moved to the world of media and advertising and joined Times of India, a leading Indian newspaper, as chief manager (advertising) and grew to the position of vice president in three years.

Hira Lal Bharvani
General Manager, Oman ORIX Leasing Company
Prior to his move to Oman, Bharvani was general manager, ORIX Leasing Pakistan Limited (OLP). He holds MBA and LLB degrees from the University of Sindh and has over 19 years experience in the leasing and banking sector. He has held senior management level positions in corporate leasing, SME leasing, micro enterprise financing and consumer financing. He also has 12 years experience of training and teaching business studies at the executive and Masters level. Credit risk management, financial statements analysis, managerial accounting and corporate finance are among the courses he has taught. Barwani is married, and has two children.

A Reguramalingam
Acting Financial Controller, Bank Dhofar
This CA and BBA from Madurai University has over 26 years of work experience behind him. He started his career with the Amalgamation group as its manager, finance. From there, he moved on to Indian Bank as its deputy chief officer. Having spent five years as Bank Dhofar's investment manager he is well versed with the workings of the bank. In his new capacity, he plans to add value to the bank's information system and help it move towards Basel II norms.

Syed Mohammed Quadry
Vice President - Business development, Global Investment House
At Global Investment House, Quadry has been assigned the job of developing new
investment related products and services for clients in Oman and the GCC region. With over ten years of experience in investment, asset management, project finance, client relationship and business development activities he is suited for the job. A bachelor of commerce and an MBA from Osmania University, he went on to join Professional Investment Company as its financial consultant. He went on to work with Global Commercial Services, Gulf Investment Services, Analyze 19, Global Computer Services Corporation. At GIS as its manager, business development and marketing he was responsible for managing client relationship with existing clients and seeking solutions to generate more business. He is currently pursuing a PG Diploma3 in Islamic Banking and Insurance from the Institute of Islamic Banking and Insurance in the UK.

changes at mazda
Amit Malhotra, head of Marketing, Towell Auto Centre, has left the organisation to pursue his long-cherished dream of earning a global MBA degree. The quest for further education has motivated him to move out of his present job. Malhotra describes his experience in Oman as exciting, fun, spirited and unforge-ttable. He will be in Oman until September 2006.

Shailendra Tanwar, brand in-charge for Mazda at Towell Auto Centre, has left to return to India. Anuraag Chawla, currently account manager at National Publishing and Advertising (NPA), will be joining Towell Auto Centre as brand manager for Mazda.
