Spending time at airport lounges
There is no particular rule. If I am travelling for a meeting, I prepare for it. While travelling on a holiday I read newspapers. There are times when you meet someone who you know and begin a conversation.

Dress code
I am not in favour of uniforms, but one needs to be presentable. In today's environment, being well turned out is a necessity rather than a choice. On Thursdays, however, we encourage people to be dressed in casuals.

Office parties
I am in favour of office parties as it helps family members of staff members to get to know each other. Within the group these enable people to know what is happening in other areas of the business. Overall it fosters a better working environment.

Working hours
It should be flexible. Working hours is not an issue as long as a person fulfils his duties and commitments. I have never been parti-cular about people reporting dot on time for work as I realise that they are humans and not machines.

Advice to people who want to work with you
Honesty and an ability to get results are two values that I look for. Even during job interviews I stress on these qualities more than academic or professional qualifications.

Your vision of an ideal office
The premises should be clean so that one feels like going to the office on a Saturday. The atmosphere should be friendly with people not trying to pull down each other.

How do you unwind?
Though I have not learned music, I am very fond of it. While driving, I like to turn up the volume whenever my favourite music is playing, which at times disturbs people who are travelling with me.

Had you not been in this industry what would you have been doing?
I am a person who likes speaking to people who are disturbed or in trouble so that I can help them. In my family, people come to me seeking advice on various issues. So I think I would have been a philosopher who talks about worldly affairs.

Any incident that has left an imprint on you
I recall two instances. The first was a theft in our office and second when a fire gutted one of our warehouses. Though these were tragic incidents, there were a number of people who came forward to help us. This taught me that if you are good to others and honest in your dealings, others will come forward when you are going through a bad time.

Your big dream
I am a happy and contented person. I would like to help other people and do social work. At the end of the day one needs to be a good human being and not live for just economic prosperity.

Working in a global village
In today's world, your e-mail is your universal address and the mobile number is your universal number. In such an environment you need to convince the buyer that your product and service is good.
