The green fuel, the new oil - whichever way you refer to it, gas is one of the most important resources in the country’s stable today. In our cover story this issue, deputy editor, Mayank Singh, takes a good, hard look at the realities in the young gas industry in Oman and the strategies that will determine how well the country can cope with increasing demand. Fisheries and healthcare are the two other sectors that have been analysed this issue with Dr Ali Jaffar Mohamed of Ministry of Health and the undersecretary of Fisheries, Dr Hamed Said Al-Oufi adding significant value with their open answers.

This month, BusinessToday looks different, reads different and we hope you find that different is another word for better. It all started with the editorial department requesting for a new look. This idea was thrown out in the very first meeting between Edit and Design, as everyone realised that a cosmetic overhaul of the body without any changes to the actual engine, is simply the ‘old book, new cover’ scenario. Designer, Pradeep worked endlessly on a variety of design options, and occasionally came up with very useful suggestions regarding content, which we welcomed. A lot of people have put their input into this publication and we hope that all of this has resulted in something truly new.

The pages this issue don’t just look different, they are different even in the old sections in terms of how stories have been presented and packaged. Many new elements like infographics have been used effectively to enhance your experience. Our news section is not just a rehash of what happened in the month gone by but much more; the entire back-of-the-book section has been revamped with lots of new additions to make your read interesting if you, like millions of others, start reading from the last page.

Your feedback is needed. You can mail or call us with your views but if there are things you don’t like, call us now.
