Gizmos ’n’ gadgets

It doesn’t take much time for Nabeel Sultan, deputy managing director, Jawad Sultan Enterprises, to pick three gadgets he doesn’t have but would love to buy. Known in the business circles as a prudent investor with a knack of picking out winning stocks, Sultan displays the same equanimity while picking his gadgets. His picks veer towards the utilitarian. The only king-sized pick is a 103” TV, but that is the movie buff, who one day may think of producing a Hindi film, showing through.

I would love to own one for all the facilities it provides. E-mail access on the go and better ability to handle a variety of data and communication services are a few reasons to own one.

MacBook PRO (17") Notebook

I’ve never tried a Mac so I would like to try it. The only thing holding me back from buying it is the fear of getting addicted to it.

Panasonic Plasma 103" TV

This is another dream buy. Bigger the screen, better the viewing experience. Giant screens are always welcome.

Think big

We sit fascinated by the deep frown lines that are appearing on David Aziz’s forehead. ‘C’mon, it’s not that hard a question,’ we think. ‘What are the three things you would love to own which you currently don’t have?’ should have been a cakewalk for Aziz, who, as the director – automotive products, MHD, must be used to making difficult choices. “This is really difficult… I’ve already bought whatever I felt like buying.” A few minutes more of deep introspection later, Aziz brightens up. “Here we go, and in the order in which I crave them…”

IWC watch

I love watches and I must admit that I already have a big collection of designer watches. But an IWC watch is something I dream of owning. I want to visit the factory, which is on the outskirts of Zurich, and have a watch custom-made for me.

A boat

This is one dream that can be realised only subject to my wife’s approval. I would love to own a medium-sized boat, BAYLINER as the price is more reasonable compared with Sunseeker’s Princess or Sealine.

Aston Martin DBS7

I would love to own a vintage one in either blue or green. Apart from the performance, power and driving experience, this is one car brand that would ensure first presence on the road; you stand out in the crowd.
