Suzuki XL7
Moosa Abdul Rahman Hassan & Company has launched the all-new 3.6-litre Suzuki XL7, electronic all–wheel-drive, seven-seater SUV. The 2008 XL7 is bigger, bolder and more powerful than the previous generation XL7. In creating the new XL7, Suzuki leveraged its SUV heritage and expertise to design an all-new vehicle for the SUV segment that provides style, room and adaptability for active lifestyles. Says Virendra Agarwal, CEO, Moosa Abdul Rahman Hassan & Company, “Suzuki XL7 not only offers cargo and seating flexibility for all aspects of a consumer’s active lifestyle, but also performance capabilities and safety features that give them the confidence of being in control.”
Subaru Impreza
The third generation all-new Subaru Impreza has been developed around the concept of new and more refined designs for comfort and performance, while advancing a sporty, safe and reliable drive that the Impreza series have consistently delivered. In accordance with Subaru’s philosophy, the core mechanism of Subaru Symmetrical AWD (all-wheel drive) with a Boxer engine continues to provide an enjoyable ride, even as it integrates performance with advanced safety and
environmental considerations. The car incorporates three core values: sophisticated styling; useful and convenient packaging; and a rewarding and trustworthy ride. Automatic transmissions have been modified for faster, more accurate, responsive shifts, while fuel economy is improved through reduced friction. The Impreza is available at Subaru dealer, Oman Trading Establishment.
Mercedes SLK-class
Debuting at the Detroit motor show was the Mercedes 2009 SLK-class. This is merely a mid-cycle refresh that might only be recognised by Benz worshippers and SLK owners. The biggest change is up front. The snout has been redesigned to look more like the McLaren Formula One race car. A cleft air dam mimics the front wing of the F1 car, with new headlights rounding out the changes. Under the hood is a direct-injection version of the previous 3.5-litre V-6. The compression ratio jumps to 12.2:1, the redline rises to 7200 rpm, and horsepower jumps from 268 to 301.
Mustang
The latest in Ford’s variants of its macho Mustang muscle car is the 2009 glass roof Mustang. Mustang coupe’s US$1,995 option glass roof panel that stretches from the windshield to the rear window is fixed, neither sliding nor tilting. It’s tinted and has a scrolling shade to help prevent its occupants from baking like a casserole under the summer sun.
Tata Nano
Nano, the US$2,500 people’s car from Tata Motors, was unveiled at the ninth Auto Expo in New Delhi. The all-aluminium car has a rear-wheel drive and two-cylinder, 623cc, multi-point fuel injection petrol engine. The four-door Nano has a roomy passenger compartment and can seat four persons. With a length of 3.1m, width of 1.5m and height of 1.6m, with adequate ground clearance, it can effortlessly manoeuvre on busy roads in cities or rural areas.
