FACIAL PLASTIC SURGERY
The mirror never lies. If your’s is hinting that you should visit the plastic surgeon for removing those wrinkles or for some other cosmetic surgery, here are a few pointers that we think may be of help:
Your motivation and expectations
It is important that you already feel good about yourself and that you just want to improve your image of yourself and refresh your face. Also, the problem needs to be visible – one that both you and the doctor can see. The decision to go for surgery must be rational and not for emotional gratification. You should also be careful about your expectations. You must remember that your bone structure, cartilage and skin play into the end result.
Your emotional state
If you're going through emotional trauma then don't have cosmetic surgery. If you're already depressed, chances are you will feel worse since the results of surgery may not be immediate. Things might turn worse before improving.
The expense
You don't want the surgery to add to any financial troubles. Don't go into facial plastic surgery with thoughts of the expense hanging over your head.
The risks
Like any surgery, there are routine risks associated with anaesthesia, blood loss and infections. But cosmetic surgery has some specific risks – like asymmetry, a less-than-desirable outcome and slow
healing as well.
