Emirates Skycargo sets sights on South America
Emirates SkyCargo has appointed Scand Air Cargo as its cargo sales agent (CSA) in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The appointment, timed with Emirates SkyCargo's participation in Intermodal South America, South America's largest trade show, will maximize the
carrier's ability to service the region.
By appointing a CSA, Emirates SkyCargo hopes to better serve its customers in South America and increase trade access to key markets around the world.
Emirates is also seeking to consolidate its presence in East Africa with the start of services to the Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa thrice a week from March 27. Frequency on the Dubai-Addis Ababa route will become daily services from December 1.
Emirates will be operating the Airbus A330-200 on both routes. It offers superior range capability and significant cargo volumes. The wide-bodied aircrafts have been specially appointed and equipped ensuring the safety and comfort of passengers.
Emirates' 91-strong fleet, which includes 82 wide-bodied passenger jets and nine freighters, is one of the youngest in the skies. Emirates SkyCargo now serves 83 destinations in 57 countries in Europe, North America, Middle East, Africa, the Indian subcontinent and the Far East.
While Brazil's export partners include the US, Argentina, UK, China, Germany and Mexico. Its import partners are the US, Argentina, Germany, China and Japan.

British Airways offers slashed rates
British Airways has announced slashed prices for its summer ticket sale, which includes bargain basement deals from Muscat to holiday destinations like the US and Canada. Economy passengers will be the main beneficiaries with seat prices to the UK from Muscat down to just RO150.

Take along all essential items in the cabin baggage. Flights may be delayed or luggage may be lost. This is more important if the child needs special medication
Qatar Airways’ global growth plans
Qatar Airways (QA) announced its global growth plans at the 2006 Bahrain International Travel Expo (BITE).
This was the first time that Qatar Airways was a participant at the expo. The event, which is now in its second year and was held at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) from May 9 to May 11. Air Arabia Goes to Jaipur
Air Arabia, the low-fares airline in the Middle East and North Africa, has announced the start of flights to Istanbul from May 28 with two flights a week every Thursday and Sunday. Fares start from AED300 for flights to Istanbul, exclusive of taxes and surcharges with similar fares for return trips.
The airline also announced the start of flights to Kabul from May 4 with four flights a week. Fares start from AED450 for a one-way flight to Kabul, exclusive of taxes and surcharges.
