Fly to Salalah
Oman Air is inviting travellers to bid the heat adieu and head to Salalah for the khareef festival this year with some great offers. Throughout August passengers can avail of special khareef packages and travel to the misty climes of the Dhofar Mountains for no more than RO96. Come September, the fares will dip even further to RO72.

Special packages for the festival season will allow passengers optional services like car rentals for a mere RO13 per day and a half day or full day tour for RO33 or RO72 for three passengers.

Protect your packing
Pack items such as suntan lotion, moisturiser and perfume into individual bags, just in case the packaging gets smashed or the contents leak. Plastic or paper tissue folded around delicate clothes can help prevent creases

Long–legged comfort
If you have long legs, request a seat next to the emergency exit. Ask well in advance. The airlines will need to know whether you are able-bodied and will be able to open the door if needed

Check in early
Check in at the earliest time given by the airline to avoid delays. Use your time to ask for an upgrade, or a better seat

Take a walk
Walk around to prevent deep vein thrombosis on long flights. DVT is the formation of a blood clot (thrombus) in the veins.

Manchester unlimited with Etihad
This summer Etihad Airways is offering a special package that allows passengers a round trip to Manchester, including three nights' stay, for AED2,499 per person.

The offer is on a return airfare in the Coral Zone of the plane. Passengers will have cars for the three days, accommodation on twin sharing basis and breakfast. For departures from Abu Dhabi till August 15, a supplement of AED200 per adult and AED150 per child applies.
