Frequent Fliers
What is a frequent flier programme?
It is like a game of monopoly where you earn points each time you fly with the airline on whose programme you are registered. You can then exchange these points for freebies, including free tickets and upgrades to the next higher class. Most airlines will also allow you an extra baggage allowance if you are a member of their frequent flier programme
I have the membership, now what?
Make sure you carry your membership card each time you fly and do not forget to quote your number when booking tickets. This will ensure that you accrue those points and bonuses each time you fly with the airline
How to get the frequent flier miles and what to do with them?
Points are usually accrued in relation to actual miles travelled for passengers in the economy class, 150 per cent of actual travel in the business class and double in first class. The accrued miles can then be redeemed for a free ticket or an upgrade to the next higher class. Points can be redeemed through the customer services cell of the airline
