Oman today photography competition

Winning images from our readers, capturing moments from across the sultanate

On April 21, the winners of the 2007 Oman Today Photography Competition were unveiled at a prize-giving ceremony at Bait al Baranda Museum. The competition, sponsored by Oman Mobile, HSBC and Photo Centre, drew an impressive number of entries – 1,350 images, many of them of an extremely high standard.

The six winners and 12 runners up were presented with their prizes by H E Ali Sunaidy, Minister of Sports Affairs, and Mohana Prabhakar and Saleh Zakwani, managing editor and publisher of Apex Press and Publishing.

A selection of 127 competition entries, including the 18 winning photographs shown here and on the following pages, is on display until May 3, Saturday to Thursday, 9am-1pm and 4pm-6pm, at Bait al Baranda (tel: 24 714262).
