Oman Today - Adventures in Oman

As saalam

After years spent exploring the country, things begin to look the same. Canyons can be beautiful, but if you never go beyond ‘wadi bashing’ they have little chance of holding your attention.

Over time, we have discovered that the real treasures are below the surface, around the bend. Wadi Bani Auf is probably the most trampled upon freeway of eroded rock in Oman, but is only known for its occasional pools of water. But their seasonal charm pales in comparison to the real attraction: honey harvested in the wadi depths, ancient tribes ploughing their fields, sweet melons being served in the rain.

You will find all that and more in this issue, a month’s worth of destinations and depth.
